The Devil, thy name is EXPRESS
Jan. 5th, 2004 09:38 pmI'm not a shopaholic. Usually, my purchases are very well planned, often I will visit the store before hand sans wallet, to try whatever it is on and make sure I really like it without any money. Then I go home, and think about it, and if I still like it, then I go get it. Usually, this is a great plan, perfectly designed to keep me impulse-buy free.
Unless, of course, I'm shopping at Express.
The problem with Express is that everything fits me there, which is almost unheard of for somebody like me with too-long arms and hips too wide for my frame. the clothes were made for girls like me. So everything looks nice.
Right now, of course, being the new year, there are all the end of season sales going on. Things I've been waiting to go on sale for months were finally 50% off.
I went in there yesterday, and made my mental purchases.
Step one, complete.
I meant to get two button down shirts, one cashmere mini sweater, and maybe a pair of dress pants.
Step two, Check.
I ended up with: Two button down shirts, TWO cashemere minis, a casual pair of blue satin jeans, a red sweater, a skirt, and no dress pants.
Whoops.
ergh. now what?
