Speechless

There is a reason I shouldn't watch the news. Especially in the morning. Because I will inevitably hear about things like this.

J&J jewelers is literally 2 minutes from my parents house. Pretty much every piece of jewelry i've ever owned has either been bought, fixed, or engraved there.

Tom was a great guy, my dad saw him just over the weekend to order something for my Mom for Christmas. He had two teeneage daughters that go to my high school. I have NO idea how something like this could have happened.

The gunman has yet to be found, and judging by his physical description (5'8", husky blonde male in his early 20's), he is VERY likely somebody I went to school with.

on the brighter side

Some more pleasant things on the horizon:

• last night, I had a moment of "fuckitall" and decided to leave work at 8:30. The floor of Bloomie's was dead, I wasn't missing anything, and I was getting the shakes from too much caffeine. I got to go home early, eat a real meal, shower, and all kinds of other good stuff.
• My ipod has been fabulously updated by my very special Jewish friend, Marianne.
• I have the best boss at Coach ever! in addition to my discount coupons for the Coach store (last minute Xmas shopping), she also sent me a lovely little bag! w00t! i'm a snooty designer hobag now too! [I tried to find a picture of it to brag more, but I can't, so just be pleased to know I have been given a lurex optical frame purse wristlet. gratis]
