Ok, I'm going out for drinks with AsiaFantastic tonight. He's like, 2 stops past me on the Subway, so I have a feeling we're gonna keep it local to Long Island City/Astoria.

Any good bars or anything anyone can recommend, because I'm beyond lost when it comes to going out in Queens and it makes me nervous.

HELP HELP!

Of course, he picks the week that my skin is having a mutiny battle with my face. figures.

Also, I'm going to assume that the whole wheat bagel on the counter this morning was for me {THANKS!!!}. And... if it wasn't... that's sucks, 'cause I'm eating it now, and it is DEEE-lightful!

a few days ago, I caught "The False Servant" at the Classic Stage Company. It's a new adaption of the 1721 French play.

the sets were excellent - a giant cart piled to the ceiling with steamer trunks, with the actors constantly manipulating the cart and trunks to form the sets.

the acting was excellent - Jesse Pennington as Lelio was surprisingly good- I wasn't expecting that.
Paul Lazar- not so good. which i was expecting.

the play itself was one giant clusterfuck. The plot took so many ridiculous turns, I doubt if it would have been understood, even by 1721 standards. This one is tricking this one into marriage, but is really tricking that one, but HEY! that one's dressing up like a man to trick this one and get a dowery. or something. too much thinking, not enough entertainment.

it was still pretty to watch, though.
