like breadcrumbs...
Sep. 27th, 2005 10:09 amLast night, there was no N train.
I don't know why. a switch fire, or wild-eyed train-jacking teen hoodlums, or something. But for whatever reason, the train just never showed up. Then the inaudible announcer got on the GodMic and relayed that there was no train service. Not, "Please use the shuttle bus as an alternative", or "Take the # to the Letter train and transfer". Just, "Sorry guys. You're on your own. good luck."
And I freaked out for a second, realizing that I had never walked home from here before, and I didn't know how to do it {for those of you who don't understand streets in outer-borough terms, streets in Queens have a tendency to get very confusing versus Manhattan's basic up-and-down grid}. And I did. Much better than following breadcrumbs even, since pigeons don't eat train tracks. usually.
